Keynote Addresses: “The de-marginalization of linguistic and literary trends in Latin America" by Dr. Margarita Hidalgo, Professor at San Diego State University, California, a renowned sociolinguist who has researched the New World and US Spanish and the Mexican indigenous languages at the dawn of the 21st century.  Her book on Mexican indigenous languages appeared in 2006 (Contributions to the Sociology of Language 91), Mouton de Gruyter (Berlin).
